I am a Zend Certified PHP web developer. I have a keen interest in the internet and related technologies and I have been working in this field commercially for approximately seven years on a full time basis for several New Zealand based web firms, and in a freelance capacity for a handful of individuals and organisations.
Most recently I have spent the last 4 years working as a developer/senior developer for Doubledot Media Ltd. Prior to this I plied my skills and learnt my trade working as a web designer and developer for Vision Online for approximately 3 years. During this time I have also undertaken numerous projects in a freelance capacity in conjunction with a wide variety of customers. I am currently self employed and pursuing ongoing freelance work, under the banner of p.m.d.
Primarily dealing with small & medium enterprises, my work history has involved production of large numbers of small business & personal websites, through to custom builds of large education portals, online research tools & interactive applications. My skillset is widely varied and broad across the full spectrum of PHP web development in a LAMP environment, page design & construction to current web standards, dynamic HTML user interface and javascript applications.
I have extensive experience with the CakePHP framework, and have also been an early adopter of the Lithium framework. I have historically developed front end JS using Mootools, and also have plenty of experience with jQuery. I have deployed heavily customized WordPress installations and have experience with theme & plugin development. Along with SilverStripe & Doctrine, I have experience with numerous other open source development platforms & utilities. I currently push to adopt HTML5 & CSS3 standards where possible.
I'm a 30 year old, NZ born & bred lad from Central Otago. Im a proud (and busy) father of two, and currently live in Wanaka with my better half (and similarly busy mum) Vanessa.
I enjoy a cold beer, bass heavy music and plotting the revolution. Occasioanlly I tear myself away to hit the hills on either my mountain bike or snowboard.
I have a number of ongoing projects, the following are set for launch soon!
